The frenzy that BTS has reached in Mexico is surprisingly high. In the past week, the tickets to the concerts of the K-pop group in Mexico City were sold in a matter of hours. Those fans were disappointed and their voices echoed soon enough on the Internet.

The problem soon grew too large to an extent that involved the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum. What began as a music show, morphed into a subject at a national press conference.

Presidential Attention

President Sheinbaum did not hesitate to address issues during her Monday morning news conference. She explained that she knew what young fans who could not afford to buy the tickets felt. She even wrote a formal letter to the prime minister of South Korea in support of her.

She requested in the letter whether BTS would be able to include more concert dates in Mexico. The president said that she has not received a response yet, although she was optimistic that she would get a positive response.

Sold-Out Shows

On May 7, 9 and 10, BTS is scheduled to play at the stadium of GNP Seguros, Mexico City. The show has a capacity of approximately 65,000 persons and that is why it is among the largest concert halls worldwide.

The concert promoter Ocesa later confirmed that it is not possible to add additional dates at the moment even though the demand is huge. This was shocking news to many fans despite the public effort by the president.

President Sheinbaum had earlier in the year on January 19, lauded the visit of BTS. She explained that it was a historical demand of Mexican young people getting a chance to be.

She further added that BTS is a highly known Korean band that young people are just in love with. Her remarks were not confined to Mexico and were also reported by a couple of South Korean sources of news.

Ticket Concerns and Fair Sales.

During the same briefing, the officials of the consumer protection agency of Mexico provided measures to safeguard the buyers. They said that they are collaborating with Ocesa and Ticketmaster Mexico. They aim at making the prices of the tickets transparent and eliminating reselling. The government would like fans to be given a just opportunity to watch the concerts without paying exorbitant amounts.

BTS is back after almost four years of absence in terms of group performances. The seven boys including RM, Jin, Jimin, V, Suga, Jung Kook and j-hope are about to embark on a huge global tour.

The tour will start in the month of April in South Korea and be spread all over Asia, the Americas, Europe, and Australia until March 2027. A new album by the group will also be released on March 20, which is called ARIRANG. Mexico is still becoming larger on the music map of the world with BTS joining this list.
