A devastating accident at Malaysia’s KM264.7 of the North-South Expressway near the Menora Tunnel claimed three lives on Sunday, March 30, just a day before the Aidilfitri celebration.
According to reports, the accident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. when a Perodua Bezza, believed to have skidded due to an oil spill, lost control and swerved off the road.

The car, driven by 29-year-old Abdul Rahman Abdul Rahim, was en route from Kuala Kedah to Tanjung Malim with his wife, 25-year-old Nur Fatihah Badrul Hisham, and their two-year-old daughter, Naira Falisya Abdul Rahman.

Devastatingly, all three were ejected from the vehicle upon impact.
Fatalities Confirmed: Mother, Daughter and Unborn Baby
The daughter, Naira Falisya died at the scene while her mother Nur Fatihah, who was eight months pregnant, was initially rushed to Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB) in Ipoh, Perak. However, Nur Fatihah passed away at 9:00 am on Monday, March 31.
Medical personnel also attempted an emergency procedure to save the unborn baby but were unsuccessful.
Husband Survived, Suffered Serious Injuries
According to a report by Sinar Harian, Abdul Rahman suffered serious injuries, including 15 stitches inside his mouth, making it difficult for him to give a statement to the police.

He has since been discharged from the hospital but continues to receive further treatment.
MPV Driver Allegedly Fled After Running Over Victim
A widely circulated dashcam footage on social media captured the horrifying moment when Nur Fatihah, who had been flung from the car, was then dragged by a red Mitsubishi Xpander.

The vehicle failed to stop or provide assistance and continued its journey.

Driver Has Since Come Forward to Give a Statement
Ipoh District Police Chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin confirmed that the driver of the red MPV has since come forward and provided a statement at the Ipoh District Police Headquarters.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of the vehicle’s involvement in the fatal crash.
Stolen Belongings Add to Family’s Grief
As if the tragedy wasn’t heartbreaking enough, the victim’s family has also reported the theft of her personal belongings after the accident.
Jewelry, a wristwatch, cash, and her wallet were allegedly stolen from the scene.
According to a police statement, the family lodged a report on April 4 at 10:42 pm. Authorities have confirmed they are investigating the matter and have reminded the public to refrain from speculation while the case is being reviewed under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
“You Took All the Children With You” – Husband’s Heartbreaking Words
The emotional toll on Abdul Rahman is heartbreaking. According to reports, his brother-in-law, Mohd Hafeez Badrul Hisham, 32, shared that Abdul Rahman managed to see his wife in the ICU shortly before she passed away.
He later viewed the bodies of his wife and two children at the hospital’s forensic unit.
During this moment, Abdul Rahman uttered the painful words to his deceased wife:
“Why did you leave me, you took all the children with you, not leaving even one for me.”

The family was originally heading back to Tanjung Malim for the Aidilfitri celebration when the tragedy struck. Abdul Rahman had just returned from celebrating early festivities in his wife’s hometown in Kuala Kedah.
Police Continue Probe, Urge Public to Come Forward
The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has assured the public that the case is being investigated thoroughly from multiple angles.
These include witness testimonies, forensic analysis, and dashcam footage, as confirmed by ACP Abang Zainal Abidin in a statement to the media.
Authorities are working to piece together a full account of the incident. Members of the public with relevant information or dashcam recordings from the time of the crash are urged to contact investigating officer Insp Mohamad Faiz Abdul Khalim.
