Standee Stolen in Broad Daylight
A life-sized standee of Karina from the K-pop girl group aespa was stolen from an MLB clothing outlet believed to be at Midvalley Mall in Kuala Lumpur.
The incident, which occurred in broad daylight, quickly gained traction online after surveillance footage surfaced.
The CCTV Footage by MLB
The CCTV footage released by MLB Malaysia on Instagram shows the man, dressed in a black hoodie and jeans, entering the store and allegedly pretending to browse.
His attention eventually turned to the Karina standee, which was placed right at the entrance of the store.
After pacing outside for a few moments, he pulled up his hood, grabbed the standee, and ran off before staff could react. The man fled the scene.

MLB Issues Official Statement
Following the incident, MLB Malaysia released a public statement addressing the theft and urging fans to remain respectful.

MLB added that the team is currently “reviewing the matter internally” and thanked customers for their continued understanding and support.
Extra KARINA Photocards Coming Soon
To make up for the disruption and disappointment caused by the incident, MLB also announced that it will be releasing extra KARINA photocards as part of the same campaign.
MLB Urges Respectful Participation
Despite the unexpected turn of events, MLB Malaysia appears committed to continuing the campaign.
The release of more photocards is likely to excite fans once again, this time, hopefully more respectfully and responsibly.
