A 48-year-old man was arrested after he was allegedly caught trying to film an upskirt video of a teenage girl at a supermarket in Bandar Kajang, Selangor, Malaysia.

The incident took place around 7.30 pm on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
The suspect, a widower with three children who works as a security guard, was taken into custody at 12.15 am the following day, according to Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof.
Victim was With Her Mother at the Time
The 16-year-old victim was with her mother, a 42-year-old civil servant, when the incident happened. They were making a payment at the cashier.

According to Harian Metro, the mother lodged a police report later that evening after realising what had occurred.
Another Customer Spotted the Man’s Actions
Viral CCTV footage that circulated online shows the man standing close behind the victim while pretending to use his phone.

At one point, he bent down and allegedly tried to film under the girl’s school uniform.

However, a male customer nearby noticed the man’s suspicious behaviour and confronted him. The suspect denied filming anything inappropriate and quickly left the supermarket.

Suspect Has No Prior Criminal Record
Following the police report, officers tracked down the man in the Bandar Kajang area and arrested him. As part of the investigation, his mobile phone was also confiscated.
Additionally, authorities confirmed that the suspect did not have a prior criminal record. He has been remanded to assist investigations.
Case Investigated Under Child Sexual Offenses Law
The case is being investigated under Section 15(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
If found guilty, the suspect could face up to 10 years in jail, a fine of up to RM20,000 (approx. S$6,155), or both.
