Subang Jaya Campus Stabbing Sparks Outrage
On 14 July, a 21-year-old man allegedly slashed his ex-girlfriend in the neck at a private university in Subang Jaya, Malaysia. After receiving emergency care in the red zone, the 20-year-old international student was taken to University Malaya Medical Centre and is now in stable condition.
Taylor’s University students and campus staff restrained the foreign suspect—believed to be the victim’s ex-boyfriend—at the scene.
In viral videos, the injured woman lies on the ground while several students try to stop the bleeding.
Nearby, others pin down the alleged attacker and hand the knife over to security.
Allegations of Animal Abuse and Control Surface Online
Following the attack, online users shared disturbing claims about the suspect’s behaviour during the relationship.
They alleged he had abused the woman physically and psychologically — including locking her inside the home, denying her basic rights, and killing her pets.
In one video that has gone viral, a man who is thought to be the same suspect is seen dousing a dead cat in disinfectant.
Some posts claimed he had killed multiple cats and her pet hamster, though these accounts remain unverified by authorities.
Police Confirm Arrest, Charges Under Penal Code
Subang Jaya district police confirmed that they received a report of the stabbing at around 6:30pm on Monday. Police arrested the man at the scene and are still investigating the motive behind the attack.
Under Section 324 of the Malaysian Penal Code, which deals with willfully causing harm with a dangerous weapon, authorities are looking into the matter.
If convicted, the suspect could face up to 10 years in prison, a fine, caning, or any combination of the three.
While police did not address the animal abuse claims in their official statement, they encouraged anyone with further information to contact investigators directly.
Viewers React to Shocking Case
The case has drawn strong reactions online. Many expressed outrage at the brutal attack and the disturbing allegations surrounding the relationship.
Others commended the students and security guards who acted swiftly to restrain the attacker and assist the victim, noting their efforts likely saved her life.
As the investigation continues, calls are growing for a deeper look into both the physical violence and alleged patterns of control and cruelty.
Occuring just weeks after a murder of a university student in Cyberjaya, the case reignites concerns on campus safety.
The victim remains under medical care while authorities work to piece together what led to the near-fatal incident.
