The body found at a construction site in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, has been confirmed as that of Jordan Johnson-Doyle, a 25-year-old British man reported missing on June 2.
His family raised the alarm after losing contact with him following a night out at Healy Mac’s Irish Bar in Bangsar on May 27, where he had attended a pub quiz.

Body Found in Elevator Shaft, Identity Initially Unknown
Emergency responders were called to the site in Bangsar on June 4, where they recovered a body from the bottom of an elevator shaft at approximately 4:30 PM.
At that stage, authorities had not yet confirmed the identity of the deceased, according to Malay Mail.

Family Lodges Missing Person Report from Merseyside
Prior to the discovery of the body, the victim’s mother, Leanne Burnett, filed a missing-person report with Merseyside Police after her son stopped responding to messages and calls for several days.
The family also contacted the British Consulate in Kuala Lumpur and attempted to reach the hotel where he was believed to be staying, Daily Mail UK reported.
Body Identified Next Day via Tattoo by Uncle
The following day, June 5, authorities confirmed that the deceased was Jordan Johnson-Doyle, following identification by his uncle, who recognised a distinctive tattoo, according to The Star.

Autopsy Shows Fall Caused Fatal Injury; No Foul Play
A post-mortem at the University of Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) revealed that Johnson-Doyle died from a chest injury sustained from a fall.
Furthermore, police found no evidence of foul play, and the case has been classified as a sudden death.
Commissioner Rusdi urged the public not to speculate and called on anyone with information to assist investigations.
Solo Traveller’s Journey Ends Tragically
Johnson-Doyle had been travelling alone in Southeast Asia, working remotely while backpacking. He arrived in Malaysia from Vietnam on May 17 and was staying at Robertson Residences in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.
He last communicated with his family on May 26, and his best friend received a photo of a pub quiz poster at Healy Mac’s on May 27, before disappearing.
When communication stopped on May 30, his mother grew increasingly worried and tracked his phone location, which then showed it at a residential flat block near the bar, before the device went offline.
His father flew to Kuala Lumpur to aid in the search, while the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office said it was supporting the family and liaising with local authorities.
