American rockstar Jon Bon Jovi was praised by the Metro Nashville Police Department for helping a distressed woman come down from the ledge of a bridge. The incident took place on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, where the 62-year-old singer was filming a music video with his band.
During the shoot, Bon Jovi noticed a woman standing at the edge of the bridge, dangerously close to falling into the Cumberland River.
Jon Bon Jovi’s Quick Response
According to Nashville’s Police Department and the CCTV footage, Bon Jovi, along with a female team member, immediately approached the woman.
As others walked by, the musician leaned on the railing and began talking to her, while his team member gently grabbed her arm.
While speaking calmly, they distracted the woman by engaging her in conversation. Their steady approach reassured her, eventually convincing her to step back to safety.
Bon Jovi then gently helped her over the railing, bringing her to the safer side of the bridge. After the tense moment, the woman hugged Bon Jovi, visibly relieved.
Police Share the Incident
Metro Nashville Police initially shared the footage of the incident on YouTube, giving credit to Jon Bon Jovi for his heroic act. The video has since been removed from the platform, but later reuploaded to Facebook with a message thanking Bon Jovi.
Chief John Drake acknowledged the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring safety, saying, “It takes all of us to help keep each other safe.”

According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, Bon Jovi’s intervention has been lauded by many, with social media comments pouring in to praise his selflessness.
