Residents in Taman Jaya Mas are reeling from a shocking case of pet theft after a home security camera captured a man brazenly stealing a cat, cage and all, from a residential porch.
The alarming 15-second heist, which occurred on March 13 at 10:48 AM, went viral after JBTALKS shared it on Facebook, igniting anger online.
Thief Jumps Over Wall, Snatches Pet Cat in Seconds
CCTV footage shows the suspect scaling a wall to enter the property before moving toward the cat’s enclosure, which was just off-camera.
Without hesitation, he lifted the entire cage, with the startled feline inside, and tossed it over the wall. In his rush, cat litter spilled all over him before he quickly jumped back over the wall and escaped.
A still image from the footage clearly shows a car’s license plate, which is suspected to be linked to the crime. Authorities have identified the vehicle as a black or grey Perodua Bezza with the number plate JQU6250.
Public Outrage Over Rough Handling of Cat
The stolen cat is a one-year-old Persian-Maine Coon mix wearing a blue collar with a bell. According to its owner, the pet had just been shaved, leaving only its head and tail fluffy.

The video has sparked outrage, with many condemning the thief’s rough handling of the cat.
Authorities Yet to Comment, Search for Cat Ongoing
As the video continues to gain traction online, calls for stricter laws on pet theft have emerged, with some urging authorities to impose harsher penalties.
No official statement has been released yet, but the cat’s owner is urging anyone with information to step forward.
If you spot the missing cat, contact the owner via WhatsApp at 011-39715659.
