On 28th September 2024, a group of seven Indonesian university students found themselves in a tense situation when the lift they were riding in suddenly stopped working. Despite the circumstances, these young women, casually dressed and wearing hijabs, didn’t panic. Instead, they remained calm and embraced the situation with unexpected creativity.
This incident, captured on the lift’s CCTV footage shows how these students transformed what could have been a stressful ordeal into a moment of light-heartedness.
Turning Tension Into Fun
Instead of succumbing to fear or panic, the students decided to make the best out of their situation. One of them had brought along a deck of UNO cards, and the group decided to pass the time by playing the game while waiting for help to arrive.
Their calm demeanor and playful attitude were a breath of fresh air in what would typically be an anxiety-inducing experience.
While some of the students focused on playing cards, others were seen casually scrolling through their phones, appearing relaxed and unfazed by the incident. The lift’s lights and CCTV remained operational, likely contributing to their sense of security.
Netizens React
As the video spread, netizens had a variety of reactions, with many expressing admiration for the students’ calmness and creativity during the situation.
One commenter humorously pointed out the benefits of not panicking, stating that remaining calm allows breathing to stay normal for a longer time.
Additionally, another commenter praised the girls for their intelligence, noting that they didn’t panic or scream but instead waited for help while playing, stating, “Now these girls are smart, they don’t panic, don’t scream, just wait for help while playing. Awesome, girls.”
Another comment noted the fortunate fact that the group consisted entirely of girls, adding a lighthearted touch to the conversation.
In a playful remark, someone emphasized the significance of bringing UNO cards, which helped the students pass the time and maintain a sense of fun.
Going Viral, The Internet is Amused
The video was shared on X and quickly spread across social media platforms. Netizens were both amused and impressed by the students’ reaction. Their ability to remain calm, entertain themselves, and avoid panic gained them praise for turning a potentially fearful moment into a fun and relaxed one.
According to Brilio.net, the students’ identities and the incident’s exact location have not yet been confirmed. Nevertheless, their behavior during the ordeal has set an example of calmness and adaptability.
In situations where panic might seem like the natural reaction, they showed that it’s possible to remain composed and enjoy amidst uncertainty.
