Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, delivered a rare message in English on Tuesday addressed to Donald Trump, saying the outcome of war “cannot be determined by tweets”.

“The result of a war is determined in the field, the very place where you and your forces do not dare to approach, and you can only talk about it in your tweets,” Zolfaghari added.

The Iranian official also criticised the name of the US-Israeli military operation against Iran, which Washington has dubbed ‘Epic fury’.

“It’s better to name this war as Epic Fear instead of Epic Fury,” he said.

Zolfaghari’s remarks come amid continued escalation following strikes launched by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28. Tehran later announced retaliatory missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli territory and US military assets across the region.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed on the first day of the conflict, after which his son Mojtaba Khamenei was named as his successor.

The escalation has also drawn in Hezbollah in Lebanon, which said it intervened in the conflict in response to Khamenei’s killing.

The conflict has disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy route, contributing to oil prices rising above $100 per barrel and increasing pressure on global markets.
