- 12 Artworks Snippets of Singapore and Dr. Lowly’s Travels
- 2 Artworks Quickly Acquired By Chinese Billionaire When Exhibition First Opened
- Exclusive Year-Long Showcase Offered to Dr. Lowly – A High Symbol of Regard for Innovative Singaporean Art
Dr. Lowly’s Art is pleased to announce that once again, Dr. Lowly has been invited to showcase his innovative and captivating ‘Squeeze and Splatter’ artworks in a solo exhibition at the ultra-exclusive Grand Lobby of the Beijing Daxing International Private Jet Airport. Dr. Lowly is the first Singaporean artist to be offered this exclusive high honour, not once, but twice.
Beijing Daxing International Private Jet Airport, referred to as the “billionaire airport” for private jet travellers, is one of two international airports in the capital of China, and the airport of choice for private jet travellers to Beijing due to its better security and privacy. The airport facilitates close to 1,000 private jet flights a month for Fortune 500 chief executives and state dignitaries. This year, once again, private jet travellers at the airport will be pleasantly welcomed with eye-catching, multi-colored artworks featuring glimpses of Singapore and icons of the world, by autodidactic artist, Dr. Lowly.

No stranger to the world of businessmen, Dr. Lowly himself a successful healthtech entrepreneur and medical doctor turned self-taught artist, Dr. Lowly’s signature technique was born out of systematic experimentation and creative innovation, using surgical tools, balloons and even a toilet brush. In ‘Squeeze and Splatter’, paint begins with intention but soon breaks free, engaging the artist in spontaneous dialogue. Dr. Lowly’s works are bright, dynamic, and evocative, captivating both the eye and the imagination. Each canvas holds a vision, a familiar form, but every splash dances independently: now you see it, now you don’t. These fleeting gestures merge with the viewer’s own emotions and memories to create a compelling one-frame story, thus opening a world of limitless possibilities. It was this sense of optimism flowing through his artworks that captured the eye of the airport management that opened doors for Dr. Lowly’s Art to make its way into Beijing. Dr. Lowly was first invited to showcase his works in a solo exhibition in 2024 for a month, which was followed by two more solo exhibitions in the private jet airports of Hangzhou and Shanghai. Dr. Lowly’s artworks received good feedback from the private jet’s clientele, which prompted the airport to host this year-long solo exhibition of Dr. Lowly’s artworks in 2026.
Dr. Lowly mainly paints his encounters with nature and the world. From the observations of the ephemeral transitions of sunsets and autumns to an upward peeking glance at a blue sky of cherry blossoms about to bloom, Dr. Lowly draws in viewers with up close and personal viewpoints which his art presents. To select artworks for the private exhibition in the airport lounge, Dr. Lowly chose that portray parts of Singapore, hoping that this would offer the global jetsetters a glimpse into this little island he proudly calls home.
“For a Singaporean to make it on the global arena, in whatever field, it is a rare find indeed. Based on population size, we are nowhere near any of the global metropolises, and based on talent, even less so. For an opportunity for a self-taught artist like myself, how could I not grab at the chance to showcase my ‘made-in-Singapore’ artworks? Among which, I have selected Nocturnal Glow, a powerfully resonating moonlit walk through our Gardens by the Bay, Colorful Watcher to share up-close and personal encounters with our native wildlife like the ubiquitous parrot, and from the seabeds of our East Coast Park, Star Resilience, a starfish I have named, persevering and resilient just like our citizens,” enthuses Dr. Lowly.

Once a struggling medical student who had to support himself, Dr. Lowly grew up humbly in a village and never forgets the kindness of those who helped him become who he is today. He works hard to promote his art in the hope to be able to give back more to underprivileged communities. All proceeds of Dr. Lowly’s Art that sell through the airport will be donated to charity. Artworks are priced between SGD 30,000 to 70,000.
When the exhibition first opened in January, two artworks were quickly acquired by a Fortune 500 Chief Executive of a Chinese company. “I was so excited about the sale! It meant that one of the projects for an underprivileged community would have the seed funding that a non-profit I support had been seeking to raise. Art allows me to give back to empower communities. With all my heart, I long to help others chase their dreams and soar to feel held, to feel seen, and to discover the quiet strength that carries us through even the darkest hours,” adds Dr Lowly.
Dr. Lowly’s second solo exhibition in Beijing Daxing International Airport Private Jet Airport Grand Lobby runs from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026.

About Dr. Lowly Art
From doctor to health tech entrepreneur to abstract artist, Singapore-born autodidactic creator Dr. Lowly (also known as Dr. Low Lee Yong) embodies resilience and reinvention. After building a network of 2,000 clinics over 25 years and selling his business in 2019, the solitude of the pandemic rekindled his earliest passion: art. Through bold experimentation, he developed his signature ‘Squeeze and Splatter’ technique transforming chaos into beauty with dynamic bursts of acrylic. Inspired by nature and emotion, his works explore imagination, impermanence, and hope. Internationally acclaimed, Dr. Lowly’s art has been exhibited in elite private jet lounges across China, in galleries and museums throughout Europe, and featured in journals and magazines across China, the United States, and Europe. Each canvas is a dance between control and spontaneity a visual echo of ascent, memory, and mystery.
A committed philanthropist, Dr. Lowly draws from his own experience as a struggling medical student who had to find ways to support himself. He gives generously to future doctors through three bursaries he established at the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, and Duke-NUS Medical School. Beyond Singapore, he empowers underprivileged communities across Asia through Goducate Ltd, a non-governmental organization based in the Philippines.
