Curacao Sets Off for World Cup Journey
Curacao’s national football team departed for the United States on Monday, beginning the final stage of preparations for their historic FIFA World Cup debut.

Footage shows the Blue Wave players alongside head coach Dick Advocaat, who briefly addressed the press before their departure.
“One thing you can expect for sure: we will give everything to achieve results,” he assured.
Advocaat Confident in Team’s Preparation
Advocaat said the team had worked hard over the past two years and that “now we have the time and the opportunity to prove it.”

The squad left through the Jet Centre at Curacao International Airport, under special arrangements that restricted public access and allowed the team to travel smoothly.
Momentum After Home Victory
Their departure followed a resounding 4-0 victory over Aruba at a packed Ergilio Hato Stadium in Willemstad, as Curacao completed their preparations on home soil.

With a population of around 156,000, Curacao are the smallest country by population ever to qualify for the World Cup. They will make their Group E debut against Germany in Houston on June 14, before facing Ecuador and Ivory Coast.
