A “pussy” and “a disgrace to the Sneaker Community” – those were the choice words Sheikh Abdullah, a 28-year-old Singaporean personal trainer and bodybuilder, reserved for Culture Kicks after he was scammed at Sneaker Con Singapore 2025 in Marina Bay Sands.

Culture Kicks has a following of 1.1 million on Instagram.
A “Shitty” Scam
The deal, sealed by a livestreamed gentleman’s handshake between Sheikh and Culture Kicks, was straightforward.
Rock-Paper-Scissors (or as we Singaporeans like to call it, Scissors-Paper-Stone). Best out of three.
If Sheikh wins, Culture Kicks would pay SGD 1,000.00 for three Sheikh’s three sneakers.
If Sheikh loses, Culture Kicks would only pay SGD 400.00 for the same.
For completeness – Sheikh averred that the true value of his sneakers were well above SGD 1,000.00.
Sheikh won the first two rounds fair and square. For what it was worth, a man in green “kept score” as well. Sheikh’s unambiguous victory, and the conversations leading up to the deal, were all caught on Culture Kicks’ Twitch livestream and Sheikh’s own video.
Having won the bet, all that was left to do was for Culture Kicks to pay Sheikho (as he calls himself) SGD 1,000.00.
Sheikho was the last person in the queue and he had queued for more than two hours to meet Culture Kicks.
Not long after congratulating Sheikho, Culture Kicks commanded his team to end his livestream. After the stream went dark, the accounts begun to diverge.
Despite the differing accounts, one thing was clear. Sheikho was not paid.
After Culture Kicks’ Livestream ends
According to Sheikho, Culture Kicks’ attitude completely changed after his livestream ends.

After some back and forth as to how the SGD 1,000.00 would be transferred (as Sheikho was trying to figure out how to accept money through PayPal), Sheikho was eventually told to leave Culture Kicks.
Sheikho alleged that Culture Kicks even threatened to call security in if he didn’t leave. Sheikh’s shoes were returned to him – and Culture Kicks allegedly backed out of the deal. Sheikh accused Culture Kicks of scamming him and uploaded a video on TikTok that has since been viewed almost 2 million times.
Sheikho also said that Culture Kicks unironically accused him of “scamming”.
Culture Kicks denies allegations
By way of a Twitch stream a few days after the incident, Culture Kick denied allegations that he backed out of the deal.
Culture Kicks asserted that he did not have cash on him at the material time. He added that, after the livestream ended, and as Sheikho was having issues with his PayPal, he offered Sheikho the option of coming back the next day to collect the SGD 1,000.00 in cash.
Culture Kicks’ 10-minute long response garnered 1.6 million views after it was reposted on TikTok. Culture Kicks said he wanted to scan Sheikho’s QR code on PayPal but Sheikh did not give it to him.

“He’s a small time influencer who wants to go viral,” Culture Kicks said. Culture Kicks eventually told Sheikho that if he cannot produce his PayPal details, he had to leave. Sheikho did eventually leave, with his shoes.
Culture Kicks did, however, admit to being frustrated by the process and apologised if he had used profanities.
The Twitch streamer said that he knew he was being filmed by Sheikho at all times, and rejected assertions that his attitude changed after the livestream ended.
“He wants to pay me to silence me” – Sheikho
Sheikho, who was eventually blocked by Culture Kicks on TikTok and Instagram, shared that Culture Kicks did reach out to him privately to pay up after Sheikho’s video went viral.
Culture Kicks apologised for the “misunderstanding” and, once again, asked for Sheikho’s PayPal details. He als
Sheikh accused Culture Kicks of being “rude” and “disrespectful” after the livestream ended. In particular, Sheikho took issue with how Culture Kicks refused to honour his word.
Sheikh refused payment as he was of the view that Culture Kicks was only paying him to silence him as the video had blown up.

Shortly after their exchange, Sheikho was blocked by Culture Kicks.
Sheikh Abdullah demands a Public Apology from Culture Kicks
In an update posted a week after the incident, Sheikho made clear that he does not want Culture Kicks’ money.
Sheikh did, however, demand a public apology by Culture Kicks. He also made it clear that he was not doing this out of clout, but as a matter of principle.
While some have argued that Sheikho was not scammed as he did not lose any money and retained his shoes, Sheikho maintains that he was scammed after Culture Kicks reneged on his promise to pay out there and then.
Sheikho’s three videos are appended below in chronological order for ease of reference.
