On China’s National Day (October 1, 2024), a stunning world record was set in Shenzhen, as over 10,000 drones illuminated the night sky in the largest drone display ever.
The performance, coordinated by a single laptop, surpassed the previous record set just days earlier, where 7,598 drones were used.
As reported by New Atlas, the technology behind this performance showcases the rapid development of next-generation entertainment, offering a glimpse into the future of public spectacles.
A Floating City in the Sky
The performance, dubbed “Sky City,” was a breathtaking visual representation of Shenzhen’s skyline and its landmarks.
More than 10,000 drones, flying in perfect harmony, formed 3D images, creating colorful rainbows, thunderbolts, and a spectacular aerial depiction of the city.
The show symbolized Shenzhen’s innovation and limitless future, as reported by Techeblog.
The drones’ movement, though slow, created the illusion of motion by turning on and off, almost like pixels on a massive screen, further enhancing the artistic effect.
A Glimpse into Shenzhen’s Technological Future
Shenzhen, known as the heart of China’s high-tech sector, has become a global hub for drone technology.
The city is home to major manufacturers like DJI, which has contributed significantly to the rise of drone entertainment.
This event not only marked a record-breaking achievement but also showcased Shenzhen’s continuous drive to push the boundaries of technological innovation.
