This morning, around 8.22 AM, a 48-year-old Indian woman fell into a sinkhole on Jalan Masjid India in Kuala Lumpur. The incident, captured on CCTV, shows the woman’s unexpected fall as she walked by a concrete block where several people were seated.
What the CCTV Footage Shows
The video revealed the footage of the area where people were walking as usual. The victim was seen carrying a bag in her left hand. As she passed the concrete block, she lost her footing and fell into the sinkhole.
Nearby, a man narrowly avoided falling in, while those around the block reacted in panic, frantically searching for the woman.
Rescue Operations in Full Swing
According to Bernama on X, the woman is thought to have fallen about 10 meters into the sinkhole. Rescue teams from the Fire and Rescue Department and the Civil Defense Force are working hard to find and rescue her. They’re using an excavator to dig around the site, as the sinkhole is around eight meters deep.
Current Situation and Public Involvement
By 4:30 PM, the search is still ongoing. The incident has drawn significant attention, and authorities are asking anyone with information to help out. The community and local officials are closely involved in the rescue efforts as they continue their work to locate the missing woman.
