After an acclaimed international festival run, The Violinist will celebrate its Singapore Gala Premiere at Capitol Theatre on 3 September, before opening at Golden Village cinemas islandwide on 17 September 2026.

The film recently made history at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, becoming the first Singapore-led animated feature to win the Cristal for a Feature Film, the festival’s highest honour, alongside the SACEM Award for Best Original Soundtrack in a Feature Film. It has also been selected for the 2026 Centrepiece programme at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

Rooted in Singapore and the region’s shared history, The Violinist brings together animation, music and storytelling in a deeply local story of memory, identity and resilience.
