Sun Pictures is dismissing once and for all rumours that their upcoming highly-anticipated film, “Jailer 2” is going to postpone its release.

On 2 September, the studio posted a new image of Rajinikanth as his character Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, with the words “In cinemas 15th Oct 2026” written next to the image.
The caption read, “October 15th Alappara Kelapparom!” which is a popular catchphrase from the first film’s hit song, “Hukum,” which can be translated as “We are causing a ruckus!”

Prior to this, it was rumoured that the film was undergoing reshoots that may delay its release from its original October timeline.
The sequel was announced back in January last year by Nelson Dilipkumar, with the shooting beginning in March 2025 and wrapped in April 2026.
