King of Pop’s Birthday
Dozens of Michael Jackson fans gathered in Mexico City on Saturday to celebrate the US singer’s birthday with a mass ‘Thriller’ choreography, one of his most iconic songs. Footage shows the celebration held at the Monument to the Revolution, where impersonators of different ages took part in the choreography dressed as zombies and styled as “the King of Pop”, who would have turned 68.

“Celebrating the birthday of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. And honestly I feel very proud to be a fan, an impersonator of Michael Jackson from the heart and I know I am not the only one,” said Diego Rosas, an impersonator of the singer who discovered his music thanks to his mum.
“The first song she literally put on for me was ‘Thriller’. Then I started to picture Michael Jackson’s moves, I started to dance and little by little I improved the steps, I learnt them, I listened to his songs, his video clips,” he added.
Legacy Across All Generations
The young impersonator, who started following Jackson at the age of three, came to the tribute wearing an outfit inspired by the artist and joined the fans who recreated the ‘Thriller’ moves, released in 1982 as part of the singer’s sixth studio album.
The celebration brought together followers from different generations to remember the musical legacy of Michael Jackson, who died in 2009 and is considered one of the most influential figures in popular music.
