TikToker Shares How Toxic Workplace Left Her Crying Before And After Work

A tiktoker opened up about how badly her previous job affected her.

She said she would cry when she arrived at work at 8am and again when her shift ended at 5pm.

According to her, the workplace environment was extremely toxic, and she also alleged that her boss was racist towards Indian employees.

The situation became so overwhelming that she would regularly break down. She said the eight hours she spent at work affected the rest of her day too, making it difficult to enjoy anything outside of work.

“I just couldn’t be happy,” she said.

After about a month, she eventually adjusted to the situation and tried to push through.

A Different Location Gave Her Some Breathing Room

Two months into the job, she was rotated to a different location within the same building.

While the workload was different, she said the people there were much nicer and the environment was significantly less toxic.

For the first time, she felt like she had some space to learn.

Still, after spending three months struggling, she knew she needed to find a way out.

That was when she decided to start posting on social media.

She Posted Every Day To Build A Way Out

For the next three months, she posted at least one video every day, sometimes posting twice a day.

She said she only missed a few days during that entire period.

Eventually, she left the job in January. She credited the content she created and the connections she built previously for helping her develop an income stream outside of her old job.

Her situation is still not completely stable. She said she is currently between income streams and does not have a fixed monthly income.

But compared with her previous routine, she has much more freedom with her time.

Instead of spending most of her day commuting and thinking about work, she can now enjoy things she likes, including reading, swimming and playing badminton.

She also encouraged others going through a difficult period to use whatever time and energy they have to build something that could eventually give them another path.

Commenters Echo Toxic Workplace Experience

Her story also resonated with commenters, with several people sharing that they had experienced similar struggles at work.

One commenter said toxic workplaces can cause burnout quickly, while another said they had faced the same issue in their previous job. Another commenter, who identified as Indian, said they had experienced racism at work too and managed to move forward despite the situation.

For the creator, the experience became a reminder of how far she has come.

She said she wanted to share the story so that if she ever feels down again, she can look back and remember that she had already made it through an even harder period.

I used the little time and energy I had left after work to build something else. If you’re in a place that makes you miserable, don’t stop investing in your future just because your present is hard. #buildinginginpublic #EntrepreneurLife #DesignYourLife
