US Jet Takes Off
US Central Command (CENTCOM) has released footage showing a Marine Corps F-35C jet accelerating across the flight deck before tearing into the sky above the Arabian Sea as US forces continue their maritime blockade on Iran.

The stealth fighter launched from the USS Abraham Lincoln as the aircraft carrier supported a renewed US naval blockade targeting vessels travelling to and from Iranian ports.
The exact date and location of the footage could not be independently verified at time of publishing.
Blockade Against Iran
Washington first imposed the blockade in April, during its conflict with Iran, as it pressed Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and agree to a peace deal. The operation was reinstated on July 14 following Iranian attacks on ships passing through the waterway, according to US officials.

The narrow strait links the Persian Gulf to the Arabian Sea and carries a major share of the world’s oil exports, making any disruption a threat to international shipping and energy supplies.
Maritime Operations Continue
CENTCOM said that, as of August 2, US forces had redirected 35 commercial vessels, disabled two and boarded another two while enforcing the blockade. It did not identify the ships or explain how the two vessels were disabled.
