Tall Ship Adventures Launches Singapore’s First Integrated Marine Lifestyle Destination
Facebook

Tall Ship Adventures today officially launched AIR (Albatross Island Restaurant), Singapore’s first integrated marine lifestyle destination, bringing together scheduled speedboat transportation, destination dining aboard the award-winning Royal Albatross, and exploration of Singapore’s Southern Islands into a seamless tourism experience.

Representing the most significant evolution of the Royal Albatross since she first began sailing from Resorts World Sentosa in 2014, AIR transforms Asia’s only luxury tall ship from an evening cruise venue into a unique floating island restaurant by day while continuing its award-winning evening sunset dinner cruises.

Guests can now arrive aboard the company’s fleet of Albatross Speedboats that operate from Marina South Pier, Singapore Oceanarium at Resorts World Sentosa, or Siloso Beach (Ola Beach Club) before dining aboard the Royal Albatross, anchored in the pristine waters off Lazarus Island. Following lunch, guests may continue exploring Singapore’s Southern Islands using the same speedboat network, creating an experience unlike anything else currently available in Singapore. Daily scheduled departures are now operating with published sailing timetables.

The launch is supported by three major developments that together redefine the company’s vision for marine tourism:

  • The official opening of AIR (Albatross Island Restaurant) as a new destination dining experience.
  • The appointment of MasterChef Singapore 2023 winner Chef Inderpal Singh as Head Chef, leading the new culinary direction of Royal Albatross.
  • The commencement of a scheduled Hop-On, Hop-Off service by Albatross Speedboat Adventures (ASA) connecting Marina South Pier, Resorts World Sentosa, Siloso Beach and Singapore’s Southern Islands.

A Restaurant You Arrive At By Sea

Unlike conventional waterfront restaurants, AIR is itself the destination.

Guests travel by premium speedboat across Singapore’s southern waters before boarding the Royal Albatross, where they enjoy a relaxed island dining experience against the stunning backdrop of Lazarus Island and the surrounding archipelago.

The concept combines transportation, hospitality, dining and island exploration into a single, immersive experience that encourages visitors to discover and enjoy one of Singapore’s least explored tourism assets.

Following their lunch, guests are free to continue their journey through the Southern Islands using the Albatross Speedboat Adventures network, visiting destinations including Lazarus Island, St John’s Island, Kusu Island and Sisters’ Islands.

AIR is Singapore’s first tourism product to integrate scheduled marine transportation with destination dining aboard a permanently anchored and unique hospitality venue.

A New Culinary Chapter

Leading this new culinary chapter is Chef Inderpal Singh, winner of MasterChef Singapore Season 4 and one of Singapore’s most exciting culinary talents.

Award-winning Chef Inderpal has created an entirely new dining experience for both AIR and the Royal Albatross, introducing new menus inspired by fresh regional flavours while remaining approachable for families, leisure travellers and international visitors.

Chef Inderpal has developed an exclusive three-course lunch adventure for AIR, showcasing modern Singaporean coastal cuisine inspired by the historic spice routes that have shaped the region’s culinary heritage. Guests may choose between thoughtfully curated non-vegetarian and vegetarian set menus, each featuring refined seasonal ingredients and contemporary interpretations of local flavours, served aboard the Royal Albatross while anchored in the sheltered waters of the Lazarus lagoon. The menu has been specially designed to complement the relaxed pace of destination dining at sea, where the journey, the setting and the cuisine come together as one immersive experience.

Chef Inderpal’s appointment marks a significant investment in elevating the culinary standards of Royal Albatross while establishing AIR as a genuine dining destination rather than simply an attraction.

“The Royal Albatross has always delivered unforgettable experiences. AIR provides an opportunity to build on that foundation by creating food that reflects the same sense of adventure, discovery and hospitality. We’re creating a destination where the journey and the meal become one complete experience.”

Inderpal Singh
Head Chef, Royal Albatross

Daily Scheduled Departures Across the Southern Islands

Supporting AIR is the Albatross Speedboat Adventures network, Singapore’s first scheduled hop-on hop-off speedboat service connecting key waterfront destinations throughout the Southern Islands.

Daily departures now operate from:

  • Marina South Pier
  • Singapore Oceanarium (Resorts World Sentosa)
  • Siloso Beach (Ola Beach Club)

The published sailing schedules (www.tallship.com.sg/asa-timetable) provide regular departures throughout the day, making AIR easily accessible to both local residents and international visitors.

Tall Ship Adventures has also appointed Singapore Island Cruise (SIC) as its official ground operations partner at Marina South Pier. SIC will manage passenger services, ticketing support and ground operations, providing visitors with a seamless ticketing and boarding experience from one of Singapore’s principal ferry terminals.

The speedboat network also supports the company’s recently launched heritage experience, The Southern Isles: A Living Chronicle of Singapore’s Island Communities and Traditions, which has been accepted into Singapore’s Culture Pass programme and introduces visitors to the rich maritime history, folklore and traditions of Singapore’s Southern Islands.

Already Pioneering New Possibilities

The announcement follows the successful hosting of Singapore’s first themed BTS fan cruise aboard the Royal Albatross on 11th July 2026, where more than one hundred fans recreated scenes inspired by the group’s SWIM music video aboard the ship.

The event attracted widespread media coverage and demonstrated how AIR can serve not only as a dining destination but also as a unique venue for themed events, brand activations, corporate functions, celebrations and community experiences.

Creating a New Category of Tourism

Peter Pela, Founder and CEO of Tall Ship Adventures, said the launch represents a strategic transformation of the company.

“For more than a decade we’ve been known for one of Singapore’s finest dinner cruises. Today we’re introducing something much bigger.”

“AIR transforms the Royal Albatross from a vessel into a destination.”

“By combining scheduled marine transportation, destination dining, Southern Islands exploration and world-class hospitality into one seamless experience, we’re creating a completely new category of tourism that simply hasn’t existed in Singapore before.”

“Singapore possesses one of the world’s most beautiful island coastlines, yet much of it remains largely unseen from the sea by both visitors and even Singaporeans themselves. Our ambition is to help unlock that potential by creating experiences that encourage people to rediscover the Southern Islands in an entirely new way.”

“This isn’t simply another restaurant or another cruise. It’s a new way to experience Singapore.”
