Before conservatives flood the survey en masse, and the survey’s results are used to justify the retention of archaic and discriminatory laws, go and make your voice heard by participating in the Government’s survey on 377A and the LGBT+ Community.

Although REACH estimates that the survey would take 10 minutes to complete, you probably need just 3. There are only 9 questions relating to the issue at hand.
REACH proclaims that this survey is open to everyone regardless of “sexual orientation and/or gender identity“. We cannot be sure if this is the first time such phrases are being used in official communiqués. “Others” was included as a section in the Gender section too.
The results of this survey may be used to shape Government policy on 377A and matters that affect the LGBTQ+ community in Singapore.
You can be Anonymous
The survey does not seek your identity information, so you can voice your opinions anonymously. The only information sought relate to gender, nationality, race (long live the CMIO), age, occupation and, finally, income.
Questions on Section 377A and the LGBT+ Community
There are a total of 6 questions on Section 377A and the LGBT+ Community. They comprise of both open ended and MCQ questions. The question on what is to be done with a law that should never be part of any civilised society is one example of the latter.
Some Twitter users took issue with the manner in which some questions or options were framed. Kirsten, a civil rights activist, also questioned the value of seeking views on discrimination from those who are not the subject of said discrimination.

Another Twitter user, @Wei11, expressed concerned over the phrasing of some questions. He was concerned that his answers may be misconstrued
Trying to fill this but a bit stumped by the way these questions are being phrased.
Eg. "I feel that the LGBT+ Community is accepted in Singapore."
Is accepted vs should be accepted are two very different things. I'm not sure what they are asking?— wei (@wwei11) March 22, 2022
Shape the “Best Way Forward for Section 377A’
Don’t let them discriminate in your name.
Following the landmark judgement from Singapore’s Court of Appeal which held that, as things stand, Section 377A is unenforceable in its entirety, the Government said that it intends to chart the best way forward for Section 377A.
Well, this is your chance to help shape the best way forward. Let us pave a path towards justice and equality, just as we as a nation have pledged. Go and do the survey now, and send it to your friends too.
Many surveys on such topics are usually dominated by a vocal conservative groups. I mean, who even uses REACH? Be that as it may, there is value in mobilising and participation, especially for a survey like this. So, please do your part and help spread the word.
