The actual cause of death for actress Daveigh Chase has been recently revealed, two weeks after news of her passing.
According to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, the actress, most known for her role in “The Ring,” died of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), with “chronic polysubstance use” listed as a secondary cause.
Prior to this, Chase’s boyfriend Roy Hernandez stated that she died of complications of bacterial meningitis and a blood infection.

“After a difficult childhood and a painful falling out with her family, Daveigh was bullied and struggled to find safety and happiness in downtown LA. When we met, I promised to protect her and give her the love and comfort she deserved. Together, we found moments of happiness and hope,” he wrote in a GoFundMe post shortly before her death.
Meanwhile, her father John David Schwallier, also shared that Chase had struggled with drugs since she was a teenager, and had been homeless, living in Los Angeles with her boyfriend near the hospital where she died.
He admitted that they hadn’t spoken for more than a decade, but he was able to see his daughter before she died.
She was 35.
