Hong Kong Comic Con 2026 Wraps Up in Style
Comic book fans assembled at the Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai on Sunday, wrapping up the first-ever Hong Kong Comic Con 2026. The event is aimed at attracting thousands as the city plans to tap into the tourism potential of anime, gaming and pop culture.
Footage shows a sprawling venue vibrating with high-octane energy, seamlessly bridging Eastern and Western pop culture under a single, neon-lit roof, delighting fans from across Asia and beyond.
Anime Legends and Rare Collectables Delight Fans
Fans at the exhibition posed for photos with towering statues of beloved anime characters like Goku from Dragon Ball and Luffy from One Piece, as collectors nearby marvelled at a gallery of over 200 rare, celebrity-signed Marvel collectables.

“The most impressive thing for me has to be the Star Wars section. It really belongs to my generation. It’s great to see so much energy here,” stated one visitor.
“The atmosphere is quite good; there are a lot of young people. Hong Kong is very active in this regard. Whether it’s the big displays or the small ones, everyone is very sincere about participating in this kind of ACG (Anime, Comic, and Games) event,” he remarked.
Celebrating Regional Creators and Geek Culture
The event offered a quieter yet vibrant counterbalance in terms of celebrating regional comic creators and indie animators, solidifying Hong Kong’s status as Asia’s premier hub for global geek culture.

“Goku is definitely the biggest figure here from our era. That’s why I support them the most,” Mr Lee added, reminiscing about the impact of these characters.
Star-Studded Appearances Boost Event Appeal
According to reports, the main stage erupted with star power as Hollywood icons like Mads Mikkelsen, Giancarlo Esposito, while the legendary Christopher Lloyd, alongside Hong Kong cinema icon Louis Koo also took the spotlight.
Koo, serving as event ambassador, also hosted a thrilling ‘Time Traveler Cosplay Challenge.’

The 2026 edition of Hong Kong Comic Con, which ran from May 29-31, successfully anchored its position as a top destination for ACG culture, bringing together fans from every corner of pop culture creativity.
