IRGC Releases Missile Launch Footage

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) released footage on Monday of missile launches – along with Donald Trump’s bruised face plastered on one, and the tagline ‘Until the last American leaves the region’.

Footage shows the launches and also the sticker, which showed a map of the Strait of Hormuz and the word’ closed’.

The location and time of the footage released by the IRGC could not be independently verified.

Iran Claims Retaliatory Strike

The IRGC said in a statement published by the official Iranian news agency IRNA: “Following the aggression carried out by the US military a few hours ago on a telecommunications tower in Sirik, Hormozgan Province, the Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targeted the airbase that was the launch point of the aggression and destroyed the intended targets.”

The IRGC did not name the location it said it had hit.

Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti army stated earlier today that its “air defences are currently intercepting hostile missile attacks and drones.”

US Military Response and Regional Tensions

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) had previously stated in a statement that its forces carried out “defensive strikes on Iranian radar sites and command-and-control centres for drones in Gorok, Iran, and on Qeshm Island over the weekend.”

Diplomatic Efforts Continue

Talks between the US and Iran are ongoing, with media outlets reporting potential breakthroughs last week but nothing confirmed.

Donald Trump said he was meeting with aides to make a “final determination” about a framework last Friday, but there was no readout following those talks.

Reports suggest the latest version of a draft deal include a 60-day ceasefire, moves to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and a framework to restart talks on Iran’s nuclear programme. Neither side has officially confirmed it.
