A former convict will soon face charges in Malaysia after allegedly locking up and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy. The incident took place in an apartment building located in Bukit Kemuning, Section 32, Shah Alam. Senior police officers confirmed that the deputy public prosecutor’s office has already issued official instructions to file the charges in court.

A Deceptive Trap

The unsettling event began on May 12 when the suspect approached the teenage boy in public. Local authorities stated that the man started a casual conversation with the victim to gain his trust. He then tricked the boy by offering to buy him a mobile phone internet package. However, the man claimed the teenager had to help him carry some items up to his apartment first.

Once inside the apartment, the situation turned dangerous. The teenager was bound up and sexually assaulted by the suspect. The man then exited the apartment, leaving the victim in the apartment without assistance.

A Brave Rescue

The boy was bound, but after a while he was able to get free. He went to a window and shouted for assistance in a loud voice. His neighbors heard his cries, and they promptly came to his aid. In total, the victim was confined inside the apartment for about three hours before people safely got him out.

The local authorities were notified of the crime by the neighbors right away. However, after the rescue, ACP Ramsay Embol, the police chief of Shah Alam, and his team conducted an immediate investigation to find out the whereabouts of the man who had escaped.

Arrest and Legal Action

On May 16, the police were able to locate and arrest the suspect in Kuala Lumpur. The man has been convicted of a sexual offense in the past, according to records.

Police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the investigation is over during a press conference on Thursday, May 21. He said that the police have the appropriate direction from the lawyers, and the suspect will be taken to court to be officially charged soon.
