Dubai Municipal has launched a petition to create a cat fountain for guests to snack and drink at stations. People on the platform are warmed by the strays’ joyful indulgence. Viewers encourage their countries to follow in Dubai Municipal’s footsteps and make a difference to enhance their impact.

Feline Care

This innovative project has highlighted the “Ehsan” approach. Meaning “benevolence” in Arabic, it is a conception to boost morale within Middle Eastern nations. Felines of all upbringings are well-treated within the area, and Dubai Municipality ensures  to revolutionize the impact further.

The stray cat is chewing the dry food happily and enjoying the atmosphere. The cat-shaped doorway proves how Dubai Municipality puts emphasis on small details. People are fascinated by the modernistic approach to innovation, but it is the “compassion” that won people’s trust and hearts across the platform.

“Ehsan” Station

This project is based on how the station emulates solar energy and includes a sustainable design, reducing carbon footprint from traditional power sources. The station equips AI sensors to detect the presence of felines, monitor dietary levels, and their visits in real-time to supply continuously. Approximately 200-300 meals are provided within each station in order to prioritize cleanliness.

Each station showcases the amendment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SGD) for minimizing waste and environmental protection. To reinforce the leadership values, the project becomes an initiative to increase Dubai’s investment and tourism via humanitarian innovation and animal welfare. The government believes “all living creatures are meant to have basic needs” as a “city of mercy”.

Innovative Approaches

Depending on the amount of plastic bottles or cans has been inputted, people can recycle the desirable amount into the machine. At Ehsan Station, cat foods are automatically added to the feeding bowl in exchange for the quantity of recyclables gathered. In addition, the reward system for users to retrieve prizes through an app, named by Cycle Rewards App, can be used for benefits in the future. This process is repeatable while also aiding stray animals and the environment.

Dubai Municipality also has a side programme called “Trap Neuter Return” and “Trap Neuter Vaccine Return” to help feline strays to get back on their feet. They would humanly take in the strays to sterilize, vaccinate, and compassionately recover thoroughly before signing up for adoption, or be released back to their home. By promoting safety and belonging for felines and environment sustainability, Dubai Municipality has proven to kill two birds with one stone, bonus points for humanity and well-being.
