Sundar C. recently admitted that the pressure of working with two of the biggest South Asian names was one of the reasons why he decided to withdraw from the Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth project.

The actor, who was originally announced as the director for “Thalaivar 173”, shared in an interview with Behindwoods recently that he has always been a filmmaker who’d make movies that he wanted based on what he felt would work.

“I don’t have that capacity to make people understand this during production. I don’t know how to narrate a film effectively, and at the same time, I get compromised easily without putting up a fight,” he said.
Sundar stated that such a project, which features two great legends, would also involve multiple suggestions and expectations, which made it even more difficult for him to maintain his creative vision.

“So if I do a big film like this, it won’t be just my decisions. I felt the pressure and realised that I couldn’t stay true to the project or the people involved,” he admitted.
Sundar left the project just a few days after it was announced back in November last year. He had since been replaced by director Cibi Chakaravarthi.
