BTS Greets Fans in Mexico City
Thousands of BTS fans gathered in the heart of Mexico City on Wednesday as seven members of BTS – South Korean megastars – greeted cheering ARMYs from Mexico’s National Palace during a meeting with President Claudia Sheinbaum.

Footage filmed on Wednesday in the capital’s main square shows fans waving South Korean flags and holding photos and banners as they saw RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook greeting the crowd.
“I feel super happy. I’m overwhelmed, but very happy. Mexico is very happy to welcome them,” said a BTS fan.
The visit came as the group prepares for three concerts at the GNP Seguros Stadium on May 7, 9 and 10, part of their international ARIRANG tour.
Fans Celebrate Emotional Return
Earlier, Sheinbaum raised expectations among fans during her morning press conference, saying the band could appear on the balcony of the National Palace to greet supporters. The moment quickly turned the city centre into a purple-tinged celebration for the group’s fandom.
“BTS helped me a lot in difficult times, and it really has been a group that, not only for me but for all these people behind me, has helped us, and I really like their music a lot. I really like to dance to it, and it really is a very good group that I would like many people to listen to,” said another fan.

The National Palace appearance was arranged after Sheinbaum contacted South Korean President Lee Jae-myung to request more BTS concerts in Mexico, following huge demand from fans.
Concerts Expected to Boost Economy
Mexico City officials and business groups are expecting a major boost from the concerts. The National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism estimates the shows could generate up to 1.861 billion pesos (roughly $110 million) for the capital.

BTS have performed in Mexico three times before – in 2014, 2015 and 2017 – all in Mexico City. Their return marks another major moment for one of the world’s biggest K-pop acts and one of Latin America’s most passionate ARMY communities.
