A family recently enjoyed a unique three-day getaway at Pasir Ris Park, proving that camping in Singapore can be both comfortable and high-tech.
The trip combined the natural beauty of the seaside with modern appliances, making the tent feel more like a permanent home. Despite some heavy rain during the stay, the group managed to maintain a cozy atmosphere using upgraded gear.
Advanced Technology for Outdoor Living
The highlight of the setup was the use of an EcoFlow Wave 2 portable air conditioner. To ensure the tent stayed cool throughout the humid Singaporean nights, the family used an extra battery pack to provide consistent power. This setup allowed for a much more restful sleep than traditional camping usually offers.
In addition to the cooling system, the group introduced a Pilmoa four-litre water dispenser. This vacuum-insulated stainless steel jug kept water icy cold for long periods. Having easy access to chilled water made the outdoor chores and setup much more manageable under the tropical sun.
Gourmet Meals and Morning Coffee
The culinary experience was another major part of the trip. The family started their second day by unboxing an ultra-portable coffee machine. This device gave them the choice between using convenient capsules or freshly ground beans. The aroma of fresh coffee in the morning added a touch of luxury to the seaside environment.
For dinner, the group drew inspiration from a recent trip to Switzerland. They prepared a homemade cheese fondue over a portable stove. While the cheese was not perfectly smooth, it paired well with grilled meat, zucchini, and a fresh baguette. This sophisticated meal showed that camping food can go far beyond simple instant noodles or sandwiches.
Entertainment and Rainy Nights
Even a massive midnight downpour did not dampen the spirits of the campers. Although some water leaked into the tent during the storm, the family remained comfortable. The following evening was dedicated to a special “Frozen” themed movie night inside the air-conditioned tent.
While the young child enjoyed singing along to Disney songs, the adults waited until later to watch Marvel action movies outside.
