A tragic accident in Pandamaran, Klang, has claimed the life of a man in his 60s. The incident, which took place on the night of April 26, has gained significant attention after videos of the scene began circulating on social media. The footage shows a group of bystanders attempting to assist the driver before the situation took a fatal turn.

The accident occurred at approximately 8:30 pm along Jalan Bukit Kerayong. According to South Klang district police chief ACP Lim Jit Huey, the victim was driving a Toyota Avanza. He was traveling toward Jalan Banting Pandamaran when he reportedly lost control of his vehicle. The car veered off the road and struck a stone structure located near a residential house.

A Failed Rescue Effort

Following the initial collision, the vehicle came to a stop at the very edge of a large roadside drain. Several members of the public quickly gathered at the scene to help. In an effort to reach the driver, individuals were seen breaking the vehicle’s windows and attempting to pull the car back onto stable ground.

However, these well-intentioned actions led to a disastrous outcome. As the group tried to move the car, it lost its balance and tumbled into the deep drain. The vehicle landed upside down in the water with the driver still trapped inside. By the time medical personnel arrived at the location, they sadly pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Police Investigation Underway

The South Klang police have launched a full investigation into the circumstances of the crash and the subsequent rescue attempt. Authorities are looking into how the driver originally lost control and whether the interference by the public directly caused the fatal fall into the drain.

The viral video has sparked discussions about the proper way to handle emergencies before professional rescuers arrive. Local authorities are urging the public to remain calm during such incidents and to wait for trained emergency services whenever possible.
