The Israeli military launched heavy airstrikes on areas in Beirut’s southern suburbs on Wednesday, hours after the United States and Iran announced a two-week ceasefire.
Footage showed the moment the strikes hit, with thick columns of smoke rising into the sky.
In a statement, the Israeli military said it had carried out “the largest coordinated strike targeting more than 100 Hezbollah command centres and military sites” within the space of 10 minutes.
The US and Iran agreed on a conditional two-week ceasefire on Tuesday night.
Israel said the deal would not include the ongoing military offensive against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
