Friends Guess Final Fuel Cost at the Pump
A TikTok video by user @jayorient8 has sparked amused reactions online after showing a group of friends turning a routine fuel stop into a playful guessing game.

Posted four days ago, the clip shows the creator filling up his car while two to three friends stand nearby watching the numbers on the pump rise. The video’s on-screen caption reads:
“POV: pumping petrol after the war.”
The price per litre indicated 3.790, and the group began making bets on how much it would cost to fill the tank.
“250… 273… 297”: The Guessing Game Begins
While the pump continued running, the friends took turns calling out their predictions.
“250, okay.”
“273.”
“273? Yes.”
“224 round means 297. 70 litres right?”
“Yeah man, GG bro. 297, 297.”

More guesses followed as the total kept increasing.
“270. Still going up.”
“280, 280.”
The suspense ended when the final amount stopped at 267.95, prompting laughter from the group.
“267. Hahaha.”
Viewers Ask About the Car and Fuel Use
The short clip also drew curious questions in the comments section.

One viewer asked whether the tank had been empty before the refill. The creator replied that the car still had about a quarter tank left.
Another asked how far the car could travel per litre.

The creator responded: “70L around 300km.”
“Not From Own Pocket?” Comment Sparks Response
Some viewers joked that the situation looked less painful if someone else was paying for the petrol.
“So happy when see the cost..not from own pocket so no pain,” one comment read.

The creator quickly clarified with a lighthearted reply: “I pay for all own bills.”
Turning a Routine Fuel Stop Into Entertainment
While fuel prices often spark serious conversations, this group of friends turned the moment into a quick game of predictions.
Petrol prices in Singapore have also recently climbed. On Tuesday (10 March), Shell plc raised the price of its premium Shell V‑Power petrol to S$4.05 per litre, surpassing the previous record of S$4.04 per litre set in June 2022 during the Russia‑Ukraine War, according to reports by MS News.
