A Mid-Air International Women’s Day Surprise
A passenger flying with Scoot on International Women’s Day received an unexpected surprise when the airline revealed that the entire crew on board was made up of women.

In a video posted on 8 March, Instagram user @mathildaaaa shared her experience on the flight, capturing a moment that quickly drew smiles online.
Her caption summed up the excitement:
“Ok so can we get an all female crew ALL YEAR ROUND?? I love IWD!!!! This was the cutest thing ever to happen to me on a flight HEH.”
“POV: You Flew on Scoot on IWD”
The reel begins with a playful caption overlay:
“POV: you flew on Scoot on International Women’s Day.”

Shortly after, the cabin announcement revealed that the flight was operated by an all-female crew — including the pilots. The revelation drew excitement from passengers, turning what might have been an ordinary flight into a memorable celebration of International Women’s Day.
Cute Surprises for Women On Board
The surprises did not stop at the announcement. According to the video’s on-screen captions, the crew handed out small sweets and prompt cards to women passengers on the flight.

The creator also showed off some of the items she received, including:
-
small treats handed to female travellers
-
playful prompt cards
-
a cute keychain souvenir

Noting the prompt handed to her, the caption says:
“Kisses from the husband HAHAHA.”
The lighthearted moment captured the cheerful atmosphere in the cabin as passengers reacted to the gesture.
“One of the Smoothest Flights Ever”
Beyond the themed celebration, the flight itself also impressed the passenger. She noted in the video captions:
“One of the smoothest flights ever.”
To top it off, the aircraft even landed 30 minutes ahead of schedule. With the smooth journey and the thoughtful surprises, the experience clearly stood out for the traveller.
A Gesture Scoot Has Done Before
While the moment felt special for passengers on the flight, the initiative is not entirely new. In 2025, Scoot also operated a special International Women’s Day flight with an all-female crew.
The flight, which travelled between Singapore and Chiang Mai, was led by Captain Vanessa Khaw and First Officer Robyn Alexander, supported by an all-women cabin crew team. The initiative highlighted the growing presence of women in aviation — an industry historically dominated by men.
Highlighting Women in Aviation
Efforts like these aim to spotlight the increasing number of women working across aviation roles, from cabin crew to pilots. For many passengers, seeing women leading the cockpit and operating the flight are a powerful reminder of how the industry continues to evolve.
And for travellers like @mathildaaaa, the experience turned a routine flight into a memorable moment. Sometimes, it only takes a thoughtful gesture at 30,000 feet to make a journey feel a little more special.
