Katherine, who was a social worker, was found dead on Monday, 23 February, at her home in the Hollywood Hills. It was reported that she had apparently taken her own life.

The 42-year-old was one of the three children Short and then-wife Nancy Dolman adopted. Dolman passed away from ovarian cancer in 2010.
