Chinese New Year is usually a time for traditional performances on the solid ground of city streets. However, a group of creative performers in Indonesia recently decided to take their tradition to much higher altitudes.
Two vibrant lions, one bright red and one sunny yellow, were spotted riding a cable car high above a lush green forest. The sight was truly unusual because these costumes are normally heavy and difficult to move in, yet there they were, dangling gracefully in the air. This sky-high break from their busy holiday schedule has left thousands of people across social media completely amazed by their bravery and sense of fun.
Lions in the Sky
According to sources, the performers were seated in open air with relaxed seats suspended using thin cables. Even at a distance, it was possible to believe that the mythical creatures were really flying across the valley.
The costumes were bright and worthy of contrast with the gray, cloudy sky and the dark green trees below. You do not get to see a traditional Barongsai dance group relaxing on a mountain attraction on a daily basis. Such an extraordinary game is a demonstration of the fact that even in the period of the most intensive festival season of the year, one can always find some time to experience some unusual and exciting adventure.
A Viral Sensation
The internet responded immediately to this astounding video, and most individuals shared the video on various platforms. According to a video, the performers seemed very relaxed despite being hundreds of feet above the ground. Most traditional dancers spend their days jumping on high poles or dancing through loud crowds, so a quiet ride through the clouds was likely a nice change of pace.
The contrast between ancient tradition and modern mountain tourism created a perfect moment for photography. The colorful lions were seen slowly passing the observation decks and walking bridges as many of the tourists in the park paused what they were doing to watch the lions.
