Visitors have been flocking to the Guizhou Plum Garden in southwest China as tens of thousands of plum trees burst into full bloom, turning the expanded garden into a major seasonal attraction ahead of spring.

Footage captured on Thursday features an aerial view of more than 50,000 trees covering rolling hills in Gui’an New Area, with soft shades of pink and white. Visitors walk along the winding paths of the garden, taking photographs and admiring the natural scenery.

“I feel this plum garden is the largest in Guizhou, with many blossoms. Others probably haven’t bloomed yet,” said visitor Zhou.

The garden’s well-maintained paths and picturesque setting have made it an ideal outing spot for families and friends.

“The environment is beautiful. It’s quite photogenic for pictures, and you can bring your family and friends along,” said visitor Wang.

“The plum blossoms here are beautiful, the paths are smooth, the scenery is lovely, and the air is fresh. I will bring my family or friends again next time,” another visitor said.

Local authorities say that with the expansion, the garden is now one of China’s largest and most comprehensive plum blossom gardens in terms of both variety and area.

The garden opened for tourists on January 24, marking the start of the winter plum blossom viewing season. This year, it has reportedly expanded by 40 hectares, bringing its total area to 120 hectares, and now features over 270 varieties of trees.
