The story of the silent struggle of an elderly resident in Singapore has come to light, which once again reminds us of the importance of community compassion. Despite suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes and kidney problems, she is still trying to manage her life alone. She takes her medicine regularly every morning, but daily life is not easy for her.

Sometimes she buys food herself; sometimes she gets by with the help of friends. Still, she does not want to be a burden on anyone. She has to meet his monthly expenses by relying on a limited government allowance.
Life on a Limited Income
This elderly man said that his main source of monthly expenses is the allowance provided by the government. However, she does not have much money for daily expenses. Therefore, she lives a very simple life. She often buys bread and uses it as food.

On the other hand, even when she receives invitations from friends, she does not always feel comfortable. Nevertheless, expressing gratitude, she said that the days are still going by thanks to the kindness of people.
Struggle with Health
She also faces various challenges in terms of health. According to the doctor’s advice, he has to exercise at least three times a week. She has been advised to pedal a bicycle and walk slowly. Although she can still walk, she says she doesn’t have the strength she used to have.

She also has difficulty cleaning the house. As a result, daily tasks are gradually becoming difficult for him.
Community Support
During the conversation, it was learned that some local people are looking out for her. Some invite her for food, while others offer to help. They even say they will send people to clean the house. They have also promised to provide some help during Ramadan.

She expressed her gratitude and said, “Alhamdulillah.” This incident highlights the human side of Singapore’s community support system.
Silent Reality
This elderly woman’s story brings to light a different reality of Singapore’s rapidly developing society. Despite the advanced infrastructure, many elderly people still live on limited incomes. However, the community’s sympathy is a great source of hope for them.

Experts say that social support needs to be strengthened for such people. This can further improve the quality of life of the elderly.

Wan Endon is 78 and lives alone, managing illness, mobility, and daily life in silence. She walks when she can. Takes public transport when she must. And when independence becomes too heavy, she quietly asks for help. Your support can be a reminder that she is not forgotten. That even those living quietly on the margins are seen and cared for. Stand with seniors like Wan Endon. Give today…so no one ages alone. Click the link in our bio or click here to support: https://ramadancharity.sg #ramadan #charity #ramadancharity#rcb2026 #sadaqah
