There is a man in Singapore who has spent almost a million dollars on his love of music. The 77-year-old record collector has been obsessed with collecting vinyl records for the past few decades. He said that this journey began when he was 13. Since then, it has become his lifelong pursuit. Currently, he has about 25,000 records in his warehouse. He also has another 25,000 vinyls at home.

He has been running a record shop in Singapore since 2010. Before that, he was a civil servant and head of the government procurement department. However, after retirement, he devoted himself entirely to the world of music. According to him, the Beatles were the awakening of his life. Although he is a Hindu by birth, music has become a spiritual inspiration for him.
Lifetime Collection
His collection includes many rare and valuable records. A particular record used to cost 6 to 8 thousand SGD. However, its price has recently increased to S$9000. He said that he spent about a million dollars on records and sound systems.

However, he does not see it as an expense but as an investment and love. Because for him, there is a story behind each album.
Business Philosophy
He clearly stated that he does not like speculative buyers. He discourages those who want to buy low and sell high. Rather, he wants music lovers to come to his store. Once, after the death of a young man, he bought his entire collection from his family.

That experience made him more emotional. Therefore, he believes that the value of music cannot be measured in money alone.
Health and Life
Recently, he became a little physically weak. Due to sudden weight loss, doctors first feared cancer. However, it was later learned that it was a muscle-wasting problem. Now he goes to the gym two to three days a week. Although his strength is not what it used to be, his mental enthusiasm is unwavering.

Music is joy
A Malaysian businessman wanted to buy his entire collection for 500,000 dollars. He said he can sell it if necessary but will start collecting again later. Because he cannot live without albums. The greatest joy for him is when people come and discuss music. So this small shop in Singapore is not just a business, but a meeting place for music lovers.
