Festivities on the streets were well decorated to show the pride and the development process in the country. It was a day of loud music, bright color and sophisticated technology.

This day is celebrated on a yearly basis to commemorate the year that India became a member of its own Constitution in 1950. Although the nation had acquired its independence in 1947 earlier than the British rule, it remained under the British legal provisions during a few years.

On January 26 the country had decided to commemorate the 1930 declaration when the leaders had initially given the commitment to full self-rule by becoming a republic.

Innovative Weapons and Powerful Soldiers.

It was a ceremony in which the military strength was on a massive scale involving thousands of marching troops. There were so many enthusiasts to observe the armoured cars along with the BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles drive along the road.

This year also had a feel of the present day approach with some of the armored cars exhibiting novel drones. There were also special formations such as the Ladakh Scouts and the Him Yodha contingent which were also involved in the march-past.

The sky above, which the soldiers were marching on the ground, was as busy as well. There were high-speed Rafale fighter jets and Mi-17 helicopters flying in the air above the people causing much noise and leaving many people amazed. The rhythmic music played in the military bands kept the energy high at all times during the entire event.

International Friends and a Mixture of Culture

It was not only a show of military might, the parade was also a demonstration of the rich Indian heritage. It had numerous colorful floats called tableaux belonging to various states such as Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.

The Manipuri dancers danced to the spectators exhibiting their traditional dance and gorgeous costumes. In 2009, the celebrations marked a 150-year history of the Vande Mataram.

Key leaders in other regions of the globe were guests of the event. The ceremony was chaired by president Droupadi Murmu who sat beside Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa joined them. Their attendance was a demonstration of the significance of international friendship in this large national event.

The whole Kartavya Path was covered with festive decor and the atmosphere of excitement. The parade made a lasting impression to those who attended it, whether physically or on television, as it came to an end. It was indeed an incredible day that provided the history and the future of the nation.
