Not Just Charity: Singapore Man Ensures Homeless Person Gets Healthier Meal
Facebook

Bugis, a busy area of Singapore. The morning started like every day with a crowd of people and the hustle and bustle of shops. At that time, a young man met a homeless man. He calmly requested a meal. The young man bought him breakfast at McDonald’s.

But he didn’t stop at just buying food. He wanted at least the food being served to be relatively healthy.

That Moment in the Morning

The homeless man initially wanted to have hash browns. However, while buying food, the young man requested that a healthier option be taken instead. He thought that helping would be beneficial.

The homeless man accepted the matter. This small decision later gave rise to a big discussion. Because it highlights not only charity but also a sense of responsibility.

Some Questions, Some Silence

After giving him food, the young man tried to talk to him. He wanted to know where he lived or how he spent his days. However, the homeless man didn’t want to say much. There was a kind of sensitivity in his behavior.

Respecting the matter, the young man did not pressurize him further. This silence again brings to the fore the mental state of the homeless.

Observation of the Staff

The young man later spoke to the McDonald’s staff. The staff said that the man regularly comes there. However, they cannot help him personally. This shows that the matter is not an isolated incident.

Rather, such a reality exists in the city center. Although many people ignore it, the fact that the homeless problem exists is revealed.

Social Reaction

After a video was posted by the guy in TikTok, netizens’ reactions were mixed. Some said that they had also encountered homeless people more than once and bought them food.

Some said that they help them financially as much as they can even with limited income. Many praised the young man’s initiative and said that such actions inspire more people. Some also reminded them to be careful.

This incident has once again raised questions about the reality of homelessness in Singapore. Even though it is a developed city, there are people here who are dependent on others for their minimum needs.
