China Sets New Online Rules
Starting October 2025, China announced new rules for online influencers and content creators. According to these regulations, all those who provide advice on sensitive matters must be confirmed to possess professional qualifications.

Sensitive subjects are finance, education, medicine, and law. The individuals who give guidance are not supposed to be influencers without necessary qualification. According to the authorities, the regulations are aimed at keeping the population safe against information that is dangerous or deceptive.
Who Must Follow the Rules
The regulations are applicable to all content creators that provide advice on the popular apps such as WeChat, Weibo, and Douyin (Cyberspace Administration of China).

Posters should be influenced by people with degrees, professional licenses, or official certifications. This will make sure that the advice is from trained and knowledgeable persons.
Social Site Check Credentials
Social media will take care of verifying the credentials of every creator. Authentic influencers have a label on their posts. The user can easily browse and realize that it is advice given by someone experienced.

The video connection that was provided by official media means that platforms should eliminate posts that can mislead users or fail to comply with new requirements.
Lessening Misinformation on the Internet
The central point of these rules is to decrease false information on the Internet. In the past, anyone was allowed to give advice without having the appropriate knowledge.
This made untrue or destructive information go viral. Professionals will now do the advising in significant fields, such as money, health, school, or law. Users are able to rely on the content and make sounder decisions.
Support and Criticism
The authorities claim that the rules safeguard individuals against deceptive or damaging directions. There are also those professionals that believe in the rules, as they make the online advice safer. Critics, however, claim that the rules can restrict free discussion.

The number of people who will be permitted to express their views on issues of the society will be diminished. As mentioned in another video connection, certain content creators find the rules to restrict the freedom of online self-expression.
Recommendations to Social Media Users
Verification labels should be checked prior to acting on advice on the internet. Always doubt the most unreliable posts that demonstrate professional status.

This assists the users to remain safe when being educated in finance, medicine, law, or school issues. Authenticated information eliminates the chances of wrong guidance.
Looking Ahead
These new rules indicate the attempt of China to make online guidance more credible. Although there is a belief that the rules are strict, the primary aim is to safeguard the users.

The consumers of social media are advised to subscribe to professionals whom they have verified to be trustworthy with regard to proper advice on sensitive issues.
