A Singaporean motorcyclist is an example of how people can find joy even outside of their usual travel plans. To temporarily escape the monotony and daily hustle and bustle, @nicholasschua chose an unconventional route.

The goal was very simple—to spend some time with some cats on a boat. But for that small pleasure, he traveled about 880 kilometers from Singapore via Malaysia to Hat Yai, Thailand.
A Long Journey
First, he traveled about 800 kilometers from Singapore on a motorcycle along the North-South Highway in Malaysia to Hat Yai. Then, after crossing the border into Thailand, he took a 16-hour journey by train, with his bike on it, to Bangkok. Although the journey was long and tiring, he said that every step of the journey was enjoyable.

Especially the experience of riding a bike alone gave him a different kind of freedom. As a result, this trip was not just a destination for him, but the entire journey became part of the joy.

Cat Boat Trip
Upon arriving in Bangkok, he checked into a guesthouse where he had to board a boat across a wooden bridge. Several cats roamed freely on the boat and occasionally jumped on the passengers’ shoulders. Tourists could also feed them, which was an added attraction for the cats.

He described in his video the 30-minute boat trip as “very peaceful and therapeutic.” Notably, the place is close to Suvarnabhumi Airport, making it easy for travelers to reach.
Singaporean Interest
After the video of this experience went viral on social media in Singapore, it received a huge response in social media. Many people thought that such a different trip could be great to get rid of the stress of regular work.

Especially for cat-loving Singaporeans, this place is quickly becoming a ‘dream destination’. Some said that even though it may seem crazy to go so far, the experience is undoubtedly unique.
Netizens’ Reactions
Netizens’ reactions were clearly excited. Many commented that after watching the video, they too have a strong desire to go on such a trip. Some described the journey as an extraordinary and courageous undertaking.
Others joked that it was completely worth traveling a long way for such an experience. Overall, according to netizens, this travel story introduces a new type of vacation for Singaporeans.
