Malaysian police have intensified their investigation into the explosion that occurred in the Desa Palma area of Nilai. A 62-year-old man arrested in the incident has been remanded for a week. The explosion spread panic in the area, and the matter became more serious after several explosives were recovered.

Police said that the public has been asked to refrain from spreading rumors until the investigation is complete.
Explosion Incident
A sudden explosion occurred in a commercial area in Nilai in the early hours of December 22. The explosion scattered numerous nails and metal fragments in the parking area. This damaged several nearby cars and created panic among residents.

Witnesses said that they were woken up by the sound of the explosion. Later, the police and fire brigade reached the spot and made the area safe.
Arrest of Suspect
A 62-year-old man was arrested from the Batang Benar area on suspicion of involvement in the incident. According to police, he was arrested at 4:15 pm, on 27 December, and a motorcycle he was using was also seized. The man was arrested with burns on his face, hands, legs and various parts of his body.

However, he is currently undergoing treatment at the Tuanku Jafar Hospital, where the court ordered him to be remanded until January 3.
Explosives Recovered
After the explosion, police searched the scene and surrounding areas. Three objects were recovered, which are suspected to be improvised explosive devices, or IEDs. One of the explosives was also safely detonated.

In addition, a large amount of explosive materials was found on the top floor of a shophouse. Police said that these materials can be used to make homemade bombs.
Investigation Progress
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said that it is initially believed that the suspect has technical knowledge in making explosives. Various equipment and materials have been recovered from his rented house.

Investigations suggest that the explosive may have detonated accidentally, and then the suspect tried to escape. Blood stains found at the scene also support this theory. Police are currently investigating under various sections of the Penal Code and the Explosives Act.
Security and Vigilance
Police patrols have been stepped up in Nilai and surrounding areas following the incident. Authorities are trying to ensure that no explosives are left in the area. They have also appealed to the public to remain calm and cooperate with the investigation.

However, police said unnecessary speculation could hinder the investigation. Therefore, anyone with reliable information is requested to report it directly to the police.
