A new luxury island destination has opened its doors to Singaporeans just a short distance away. The Westin Nirup Island Resort & Spa, a major addition to Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio, has officially launched on Nirup Island, Indonesia.

The island is just a relaxing ferry ride away from the hustle and bustle of Singapore’s city life. The new resort has already become a hot topic of conversation among Singaporean travel enthusiasts.
Island close to Singapore
Nirup Island is located just a 45-minute ferry ride from Singapore, making it an easy weekend getaway without having to plan a long vacation. Previously, the island required a private yacht to reach, which was out of the reach of many.

However, with the introduction of regular ferry services, ordinary travelers can now easily visit. For Singaporeans, it is like a new exotic paradise right next door.
Westin’s New Chapter
Marriott International said that the launch of this resort on Nirup Island is a major milestone for the Westin brand. Ramesh Jackson, Regional Vice President for Indonesia and Malaysia, said that this resort has been created with an emphasis on wellness and balance. ‘Sleep Well, Eat Well, Move ’Well’—these three core philosophies are reflected here.

Its main goal is to find mental and physical peace in the midst of nature. As a result, it is not only luxurious, but also a health-centered experience.
Staying Experience
This resort has 94 guest rooms and suites and 52 private villas. Each room has a spacious balcony or terrace, from which you can see the sea and the Singapore skyline in the distance. Guests will find Westin’s famous Heavenly Bed and modern bath amenities.

The design of the villas has a touch of the traditions of the local Orang Laut community. As a result, local culture has also emerged along with modern luxury.
Food and Entertainment
The dining experience at Nirup Island is also quite diverse. Island Kitchen serves all-day dining, which features a mix of local and international cuisine. Fresh seafood is a special attraction at Salt Simply Seafood.

In addition, Nirup Social Bar and Lounge and Constellation Pool Bar create a comfortable atmosphere for guests. Especially at sunset, the view from Constellation will be memorable for many Singaporeans.
Wellness and Activities
The resort has the Heavenly Spa by Westin, where various types of massages and therapies are available. In addition, there is a fitness studio with modern equipment for bodybuilding. Activities such as water sports, yoga and kayaking are also ready for guests.

Traveling with families is more comfortable with a separate kids’ club for children. There is also a large ballroom and meeting space for corporate events and weddings.
For Singaporean travelers
It is now quite easy to reach Nirup Island by ferry directly from the Harbourfront. The easiest way is to take the Horizon Fast Ferry. This ferry runs directly from Harbourfront Centre to Nirup Island. Previously, it used to depart from Singapore every Friday to Sunday at 1pm (SGT).

From 26 November 2025, the ferry started operating on Wednesdays, allowing for midweek travel.
A round-trip ticket in economy class costs S$76, and the journey takes about 45 minutes. You can take 20kg of luggage for free, with an additional charge of S$1 per kg. As this is a leisurely holiday, light luggage is sufficient.
