88-Year-Old Grandmother Dances with Sticks and Swords—Akshay Kumar Hugs Her

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar showered praises on an 88-year-old martial arts artist. At the closing ceremony of the ‘Akshay Kumar International Kudo Tournament 2025-26’ held in Surat, Pune’s Shanta Pawar, everyone’s favorite ‘Shanta Ba,’ showed off her incredible strength and skills on stage.

More than 2,000 Kudo athletes from 32 states of the country participated, an this elderly woman became a symbol of inspiration in the eyes of everyone.

Emotional Scene on Stage

Shanta Ba, that 88-year-old grandma, performed the traditional ‘Shivkaal Lathi Kathi Mardani Khel’ with her granddaughters holding sticks and swords. The audience was mesmerized by her speed, perfect handwork, and vitality.

After the performance, Akshay Kumar himself came down from the stage and hugged her. The auditorium erupted in applause, and at that moment, many people got emotional.

Storm of Appreciation on Social Media

This heartwarming video went viral instantly after being uploaded on social media. The platforms were filled with millions of views, thousands of shares, and countless reactions. Netizens wrote that age is nothing for it, or some said she is their pride.


Someone praised her female power—which proves that every step of Shanta Ba has awakened new inspiration in the minds of people today.

Grandmother’s fight for life

Shanta Ba started practicing martial arts at the age of just nine. She has spent a large part of her life preserving and promoting India’s traditional martial arts. Currently, she travels around the country giving exhibitions and using that money to help orphaned children.

She has contributed not only to sports but also to Bollywood. She has worked as a stunt double in Hema Malini’s Seeta Aur Geeta and Sridevi’s Sherni. Courage, hard work and confidence are the main mantras of his life.

Kudo festival concludes in Gujarat

This year’s Kudo tournament concluded 30 October in Surat in the presence of Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna and Jackie Shroff. The function honored the members of Surat Police for their tireless service. 

With a unique blend of sports, culture, and humanitarian inspiration, this closing night spread the light of courage and enthusiasm in the sky of Gujarat.
