A viral TikTok video showing a couple allegedly having sex inside a disabled restroom at a Thai gas station has ignited widespread outrage, debate, and disbelief — after their silhouettes were clearly visible through the translucent door.
The clip, uploaded on 7 October by user @/user4609781679653, showed a man and a woman entering the restroom for elderly and disabled patrons. Moments later, the pair’s explicit movements became visible from outside, illuminated by the bright interior light.
The restroom’s frosted glass door, designed to allow visibility during emergencies, made their every move apparent to onlookers.
Original Poster Later Mocked the Incident
After the clips gained attention, the same TikTok user posted parody videos reenacting the incident, further blurring the line between mockery and exploitation.
Among the videos, one showed a man in a green shirt sitting in front of the toilet. He kept checking his watch waiting for something to happen beyond the frosted glass.
Another showed a group of men sitting in front of the toilet, and lastly, one showed a man in green cleaning out the toilet.
Online Reactions: ‘Do They Think Frosted Glass Means Invisible?’
Four clips were initially shared, though some were later removed by TikTok for violating community guidelines. Within hours, the videos flooded Thai social media, amassing thousands of views and comments ranging from ridicule to disgust.
Among the viral remarks:
“Didn’t they know we can see through when the light’s on?”
“He wasn’t helping her — he was performing CPR!”
“This has to be staged for content.”
“Go to the forest if you can’t afford a hotel.”
Others joked about having “front-row seats without paying,” while several users condemned the couple for disrespecting a public facility meant for the disabled and elderly.
The video’s uploader refused to reveal the gas station’s exact location, replying only, “That’s a secret, haha.” This has fueled speculation that the act might have been staged as a social media stunt rather than a spontaneous encounter.
Health and Safety Concerns
Public health experts warned that sexual activity in public restrooms poses significant hygiene and infection risks.
Unsanitary surfaces in such environments can lead to urinary tract infections, skin conditions, or digestive illnesses.
Health reports also highlight the danger of contracting sexually transmitted diseases like herpes, gonorrhea, and HPV from unprotected intercourse in unhygienic spaces.
Legal Implications
Local reports reminded the public that, under Section 388 of Thailand’s Penal Code, performing indecent acts in public that offend modesty is punishable by a fine of up to 5,000 baht (approx. S$200).
Legal experts added that recording or sharing such clips without consent may breach Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) — exposing those who distribute the footage to potential penalties.

Psychologists and media analysts say the clip’s explosive spread reflects how “taboo fascination” fuels engagement online.
“People are drawn to forbidden acts — especially when they happen in public,” one analyst explained. “Even if the video was staged, it taps into curiosity, embarrassment, and the thrill of witnessing something that should be private.”
Meanwhile, viewers remain split over the clip’s authenticity.
Some believe the lighting and framing appeared too deliberate, suggesting the act was planned for viral attention. Others argue the couple may have been unaware of the translucent door and genuinely thought they were hidden.
The uploader’s decision to withhold the location only deepened public suspicion.

Experts reportedly urged the public to view the incident as a cautionary tale, stressing the importance of respecting public spaces and understanding that inappropriate acts in shared facilities violate social norms and trust.
