The body was located between two outdoor air conditioners near the window of Room 502 on the fifth floor. Police officers arrived at the scene and confirmed that the victim, approximately 20 years old, had been brutally stabbed. Parts of her internal organs and meat were removed. Authorities immediately opened a case under Penal Code Section 302 (Murder) at Panbèdan Township Police Station (Case No. 96/2025).

Investigation Leads to Suspect Identification

Security forces carried out investigations to identify and arrest the criminals. According to the report, the victim was identified as Ma Su Myat Win, a 23-year-old woman from Nattalin Township, Bago Region.

The suspects were discovered to be Aung Khant Kyaw Zin, 18, from Thaketa Township, and her boyfriend, A Mun Aung, 18, from Bahan Township, Yangon. The authorities continued their search and successfully arrested both individuals on 7 October, at their respective homes.

Evidence Recovered by Police

Police found several pieces of evidence linked to the crime. According to the video, Aung Khant Kyaw Zin’s home yielded clothes used during the murder, two steel knives, and three mobile phones, including one that belonged to the victim.

These items helped investigators confirm the details of the murder and the suspects’ involvement.

Motive and Planning Behind the Crime

During interrogation, Aung Khant Kyaw Zin admitted that he and his girlfriend were obsessed with playing violent video games and watching foreign crime series. On 5 October, through a Telegram channel called “LEADER,” he contacted Ma Su Myat Win under the pretext of entertainment, inviting her to the hotel room.

According to the investigation, the crime was premeditated, with the suspects using knives to murder Ma Su Myat Win in the style of the violent shows they admired.

Attempt to Conceal the Crime

After the murder, the couple attempted to clean the room and dispose of the body. According to reports, A Mun Aung helped hide the victim’s body while Aung Khant Kyaw Zin carried out the murder.

The hotel room was later secured by authorities and will undergo legal procedures according to Myanmar law.

Public Reaction and Police Statement

The case shocked local residents and social media users. Police have stated that the investigation is ongoing, and all legal measures are being taken to ensure justice for the victim.

Authorities also confirmed that the Beauty Land Hotel would face appropriate legal action to comply with safety and security regulations.
