Chaos in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky
Panic erupted in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, a city in Russia’s far east, after a wild brown bear stormed into the city and went on a violent rampage.
The incident on the morning of September 25 left residents shaken.
Man Escapes Attack by Jumping into a Car
Surveillance footage captured the nerve-wrecking moment the bear stalked the man from behind a wall.
Without warning, the predator leapt over the barrier with its paws raised, ready to strike.
In a split-second decision, the man dashed toward an unlocked car and managed to jump inside and close the door just as the bear pounced.
Disappointed, the animal clawed at the windows and slammed its paws against the vehicle in frustration.
Moments later, it gave up and wandered away, sparing the man’s life.
Elderly Woman Dies After Vicious Mauling
Unfortunately, not everyone escaped.
According to The Sun, the same bear launched an attack on an 84-year-old woman at a sports field near a nursery school in the city center.
She suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to intensive care, but doctors were unable to save her.
The Kamchatka regional health ministry later confirmed her death, stating:
“She sustained injuries incompatible with life. Despite the resuscitation efforts carried out, the patient passed away.
The Ministry of Health of the Kamchatka Territory expresses sincere condolences to the family and friends of this resident of our region.”
Bear Killed After Trail of Terror
Following the series of attacks, wildlife officers tracked down the bear and shot it dead.
Local officials confirmed it was the same animal responsible for all three incidents.
