Fire Breaks Out During Refuelling in Jahra
A major fire was narrowly avoided at a petrol station in Qasr, Jahra Governorate, Kuwait. Station workers responded quickly and worked together to stop the fire. The blaze reportedly began while a vehicle was being refuelled.
Startled and disoriented, the driver quickly pulled out the fuel hose. However, the situation escalated as fire spread from the engine compartment.
Witnesses reported that the risk of an explosion was high, given the car’s close proximity to the fuel dispensers.
Station Staff Act Swiftly to Avert Disaster
Without hesitation, a group of workers at the station took immediate action to contain the fire and prevent a larger tragedy.
One employee grabbed a fire extinguisher and began dousing the flames from the engine. Another jumped into the burning vehicle and, assisted by colleagues, pushed it away from the pumps to a safer distance.
The vehicle briefly reignited during the effort, but the workers managed to keep the blaze under control until firefighters arrived.
The Kuwait Fire Force responded within minutes and fully extinguished the flames, securing the area and ensuring there was no further danger to the public or surrounding infrastructure.
No Injuries Reported as Authorities Praise Response
No injuries were reported in the incident, and the damage was limited to the vehicle involved. Authorities have commended the station staff for their calm and effective response, which likely prevented a major disaster.
The case has drawn praise on social media and local news platforms, with many calling the workers heroes for their bravery and quick thinking. Officials are now reviewing safety protocols to further strengthen emergency preparedness at fuel stations across the country.
